High-performance careers within Varch across industrial, technology and infrastructure industries
Varch builds and runs private ventures in three industries, and is hiring across North America. Choose your industry, department and level, see the base salary range, and apply once. Your application is considered for every matching role within Varch. How Varch Ventures works
Base pay published for every level · One application for every role · Short form
Why strong candidates stall
- Pay you only learn in the final round.
- The same application, rewritten for every opening.
- Titles that hide the real level and scope of the work.
- A stronger-fit role you never hear about, because you applied for a different one.
How we hire
One application, clear levels and published pay. Here is what happens after you apply.
- Choose your closest role. Pick an industry, a department, a role and a level below. The form opens with your choice already filled in.
- We match you across Varch. Each application is reviewed against every open role at Varch, not only the one you picked.
- You meet the team. If there is a match, we email you to arrange a first conversation, and we tell you which team and role it is for before you speak.
- You receive an offer in writing. Base salary falls within the published range for the level.
We hire on a rolling basis. Not every role is open at every moment; we keep your application on file and contact you when a matching role opens.
Grow from within
Five levels: Junior, Senior, Head of Department, Director of Department and Executive Vice President. Your next step is visible from your first day.
How teams are organized
A lean matrix with no middle-management layers. Work happens in pods of typically five people: a Senior who leads and works alongside four Juniors. Pods report to their Head, Heads report to their Director, and Directors report to the Executive Vice President.
- Growth: sales, marketing and business development.
- Operations: technology, finance, human resources, legal and administration. Each function has its own Head: the Heads of Technology, Finance, Human Resources and Legal, and the Head of Operations, who leads administration. All five report to the Director of Operations.
- Solutions Delivery: product, projects and client implementation.
- People: satisfaction and retention, for the team and for clients.
Pods work with whichever departments the work needs, and every pod reports to one Head. Technology pods, for example, report to the Head of Technology wherever their work sits, and the Director of Operations sets their priorities and settles conflicts.
- Published pay at every level.
- When Senior, Head of Department and Director of Department roles open, we look to the team first.
- Your salary rises 5% every year. The details are below.
Pay by level
| Level | Starting base salary, US dollars a year | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Junior | $60,000 to $96,000 | Does the work, as one of typically four Juniors in a pod led by a Senior. |
| Senior | $96,000 to $145,000 | Leads a pod of typically four Juniors, works alongside them, and owns its results. |
| Head of Department | $145,000 to $160,000 | Leads every pod in a department, or in one Operations function. |
| Director of Department | $160,000 to $180,000 | Leads the department's Heads and sets its priorities. |
| Executive Vice President | $180,000 to $200,000 | Leads the Directors and sets direction across the organization. |
The same ranges apply in every industry and department. Your starting salary depends on your skills and where you fall in your level's range; after that, your 5% annual raise applies to your current salary, whatever it is.

Questions about careers
Which team will I join?
A team in one of the Varch Ventures, in industrial, technology or infrastructure. We tell you the venture, the team and the role before your first conversation, and your offer letter confirms your employer and terms.
Is every listed role open right now?
No. These are the roles Varch hires for. We hire on a rolling basis: we match you to roles that are open now, and keep your application on file for matching roles that open later.
What do the pay ranges cover?
Starting base salary in US dollars per year, by level, the same in every industry and department. Every year after that, you receive a 5% raise on your current salary. Bonuses and benefits are set out in your written offer.
Where are the roles based?
Across North America. Each role's location and working arrangement are confirmed before your first conversation. Pay is in US dollars for every role, including in Canada.
How does promotion work?
There are five levels, each with published pay. Juniors work in pods of typically five: four Juniors and the Senior who leads them. Pods report to their Head, and Heads report to their Director. In Operations, the Heads of Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Legal and Operations all report to the Director of Operations. Directors report to the Executive Vice President. When a Senior, Head of Department or Director of Department role opens, we look to the team first.
Can I be considered for more than one role?
Yes. Apply for your closest role, and we also consider you for other matching roles across Varch.
What do I need to apply?
Your name, email, phone number, years of experience, availability and résumé, and your consent to how we use your information. When you choose a role on this page, the industry, department, role and level are filled in for you.
What happens to my information?
We use it only to consider you for roles and to contact you about them. We share it only with the Varch teams hiring for matching roles, and we do not sell it. You can ask us to delete it at any time through the contact page.
